Clothing Suggestions

Long-sleeved shirts and long trousers are essential to add an extra layer of protection.

Choose light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing, as bees can be more attracted to darker colours and tight clothing might feel uncomfortable under the suit.

Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots are recommended to protect the feet.

Additional Tips

Avoid wearing strong perfumes or scented products, as these can attract bees or make them more defensive.

If possible, tie up long hair to ensure it doesn't get in the way while wearing the suit.

Can Children Attend?

Yes, children can attend, but they need to be accompanied by a fee-paying adult. It’s also important that children are old enough to follow instructions and remain calm around bees. A typical age range for beekeeping experiences is 10 years and above, but this can vary depending on the child’s maturity.

By booking this experience, you agree to the following:

The experience lasts approximately 1½ hours and is led by an experienced beekeeper from Norfolk Bees.

Participants will be provided with suitable beekeeping protective clothing and must wear it as instructed while approaching or working around the hives.

Honeybees are live animals and, despite appropriate precautions, there is always a risk of being stung.

Anyone with a known allergy or previous serious reaction to bee, wasp or insect stings must tell us before booking. If you have been prescribed emergency medication such as an adrenaline auto-injector, you must bring it with you and inform the beekeeper before the experience begins.

Participants must follow all instructions given by the beekeeper. Anyone behaving in a way that may endanger themselves, other participants or the bees may be asked to leave the hive area.

Closed-toe footwear and practical clothing should be worn. Strong perfumes, heavily scented products and loose jewellery should be avoided.

The experience takes place outdoors on a working farm. Ground may be uneven, muddy or wet, so suitable footwear is essential.

Hive activity is affected by weather and the behaviour of the colony. For welfare and safety reasons, the beekeeper may alter, shorten, postpone or cancel the hive-opening element if conditions are unsuitable.

Minimum age 12. Participants aged 12–15 must be accompanied by a participating parent or responsible adult. All participants must be able to understand and follow the beekeeper’s safety instructions and wear the protective clothing provided.

Participants should not attend if they are unwell or unable to safely participate in the activity.

Glamping with Llamas and Norfolk Bees will take reasonable precautions to provide a safe experience, but participants accept the normal risks associated with being close to live honeybees.

If we have to cancel because of unsuitable weather, bee welfare or another safety issue, we will offer an alternative date or appropriate refund.

Standard Glamping with Llamas booking and cancellation terms also apply.
